Meher Baba Reliquary

 

The need to protect Meher Baba’s Hair while making it wearable was prompted by customers’ requests starting in 1984. 

However, the original method of hand blown glass bubbles has been replaced by the method shown above.  

Two thin wafers of glass  are inserted into a bezel with the Hair inserted in between (on the  left).

This unit is covered with a plastic resin to waterproof it, and put into still another bezel (center) which is pushed into the chosen jewelry item (right) somewhat like a watch case. 

Picture below shows  the  assembled  piece  from  the  front  which  in  this  case is the "Kalki" Pendant.
