The need to protect Meher Baba’s Hair while making it wearable was prompted by customers’ requests starting in 1984. Baba’s hair is inserted into a chamber made from a thin wafer of glass and a thin layer of gold held together by a “bezel” or sleeve. This unit is covered with a plastic resin to waterproof it, and put into still another bezel which is pushed into the chosen jewelry item somewhat like a watch case.
